It turns out that using Aptana as the HTML editor in Eclipse marks all the wicket tags as errors. To get around this, do this:
Go to Window->Preferences
Select Aptana->Editors->HTML Editor
Add a new filter: .*wicket:.*
Click OK

The location has changed in Aptana v3. You must to go to Windows->Preferences->Aptana->Validation->HTML
